frustrating but true- many senior centers are cutting services and cutting corners on nutritional balance to boot.
the majority of the meals are primarily starchy, highly processed, high salt content, high fat content with very little healthy greens.
the same menu combinations cont for years. trying to plan around the menus don't work either as very often what is delivered/available is not what is posted at all.
i am grateful for the workers who try to prepare a filling meal and del to my apt (disabled)
i just do not see that there is adequate support for these vital programs.
and certainly i can not believe that a qualified, licenced registered dietician would approve this unbalanced offering.
so many of our seniors are diabetics, high blood pressure, heart patients as well as obese etc. i am grateful and also see how things could be so much better. imho proud mtnr
