Dear Guest

Acidophilus is a good bacteria  that colonizes mostly in the small intestine. Bfido bacteria (good bacteria) resides almost  entirely in the large intestine.  Since you mentioned a colon issue I would suggest that you use a product that also has bfido since there is 10x more bfido (good bacteria) in the body than acidophilus. Unfortunately studies show bfido bacteria declines with age thus many of us end of with colon problems. Also there are many studies that show some good bacteria (bfido or acid)like to take up residence  in some people and not others thus the multiple strains. MY advice is as a preventive and to help you with colon issue take a multiple strain probiotic with most of the formula bfido. So for example our 50 billion is this ratio with 10 strains and we now have a new Critical Colon with 14 strains total and 7 of those strains are  bfido. The science on this is moving fast and we at ReNew are keeping up with it as fast as we can. We will be attending the World Congress Meeting on Probiotics in April and will probably learn more. So that is why you see changes quickly. We have to keep up with the science it is my passion as I know the importance of colon health and believe you me have spoken to hundreds of people this week and people are still not up to speed on this. But thank God you are.

Sincerely

Brenda

Probiotics

Guest

Brenda,

I take a probiotic every night as I have digestive issues, and the product I am taking seems to be helping somewhat.  I am confused, though, by the many different types of probiotics.  The one I am taking has 10 billion cells of lactobacillus GG.   I know different types are taken for different issues, but is the kind I am taking the right kind to improve digestion and constipation issues?

I love your products!  I have taken many of them, especially the critical probiotics (I'm sorry, the product name has slipped my mind) when I was on a course of antibiotics.  I have even recommended your product to my sister, and she, too, takes it when she is taking antibiotics.

Thank you!
