tortuos colon
Topic RSS
Dear purple1957,
Smart of you to realize that's not the only factor in a healthy gut, tortuous or not!
Your doctor wants you to have fiber because insoluble fiber exercises your intestine (increases peristalsis), helping matter to move through properly, sweeping your colon. If you get the right fiber (start with looking for flax as base – not all fiber products contain both parts), the soluble part absorbs toxins and also is an important "pre-biotic" wihich provides food/fertilizer for your "probiotics"/good bacteria.
You also want to be sure your probiotics/good bacteria are a strong and able group of defenders – 80% of your immune system is in your gut. I think of probiotics like the new "daily multi" – you can learn about which is which here – http://www.renewlife.com/which…..ht-for-you
Most people with any digestive issue (one of those must have led you to the Doc in the first place) seem to do best on an anti-Candida diet. This particular diet also avoids most major allergens. http://blog.brendawatson.com/f…..diet-faqs/. I also created the Fiber 35 program to help people with weight loss goals - http://www.fiber35diet.com/ - it is a great plan, just not focused as much on allergenic health issues.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
Brenda Watson
