Karen,

Why would you not think that you have a pathogenic bacteria or parasite.  Much more common than you think.  If you tolerate magnesium oxide well then that is fine. No favorite type.

Dear Brenda,

Thanks very much for the fast response.  It's been since June that my movements were fairly normal.  No sooner did I post to you about the constipation (after 4 days off of the probiotic) did I have diarrhea this morning with mild cramps.  Very frustrating.  Possibly due to the very small dose of aloe vera juice I'd been taking at night to combat the constipation.  Despite my history of IBS, my diet is already high in fiber and water.  Some factor on my June trip just threw me off and it's been challenging to get back to square one.  I am not eating any new foods and already avoid the ones I am sensitive to….spicy foods, acidic foods, dairy and gluten are primary avoidances.  I will take your advice and try the 30 billion probiotic.  I would not think that I have a GI bacteria or parasite, but may get stool test done to be sure.   Thanks again for your feedback.

PS-  I take magnesium oxide because I tolerate it well.  Do you have a favorite type of magnesium?
