Sweating and toxins
Topic RSS
Dear Sarah,
I hear from moms of little babies with digestive systems that are damaged. You're not too young, sorry to say.
I'm not kidding when I say you should read that book "Wheat Belly" – and maybe have your Mom take a look too. Amazing, referenced information that will clearly show how clogging can happen, with everyone having the very best of intentions.

OfflineDear ms Watson
i agree with everything you said! People should not be allowed to post everything they think on the internet, this causes people to over worry and stress. Ive been running 1.5 to 2.0 miles 3x a day and i def can tell that sweating takes away at least a lot of toxins. I feel a lot better too!
I wanted to ask also, im 21 but have gastritis and poor digestion. Am i too young for my system to be " clogged up"? My mother seems to think so!!
Thanks for clearing this up for me :)
Dear Sarah,
Nice to hear from you again. And once more, I'm not a doctor, but thanks for your faith in my opinion.
I have personally experienced, and know many people who have experienced excellent detoxification benefits from sweating, both in exercise and also saunas and various detoxification procedures.
Would you consider drugs as toxins? There are actually tests available to measure someone's sweat to see if they are taking opiate drugs. It seems that might show that toxins do indeed leave the body through the skin. In fact, the skin is actually referred to as the largest eliminative organ of the body!
And I personally have heard from multitudes of people over the years I have been working with colonhydrotherapy, herbs and Renew Life who will attest to the value of detox herbal cleansing programs like the ones offered by Renew Life.
And yes, clearly the body can get overwhelmed and have problems detoxifying – like constipation, fatty liver disease, gall bladder problems, acne, clogged arteries in the heart, the list goes on and on. The body is constantly doing its best – and sometimes it can simply use a little help. Many times we don't even realize the daily habits we have that clog up our bodies. The crazy part is that some people learn what those habits are, and they keep on doing them!
These days on the internet, you can find someone who will take the opposite side from nearly anything you may ask. This is where your own experience and discernment will come into play. Ultimately you will have to see what actually works for you – especially regarding your health.
Keep questioning, dear girl – and researching. I have a book for you to read – "Wheat Belly" by William Davis, MD. – it's a NY Times bestseller, which means you can borrow a copy from the library if you'd rather not buy one. Amazing book.
Let me know how you like it.

OfflineHello dr Brenda
ive read a lot of discussions about sweating and toxins, in one of the articles it said that sweating had no or little toxins being eliminated in the sweat. And in other articles ive read that sweating will indeed get rid of most toxins in your body.
I also read that detoxification programs do not work, that the body does a great job doing it itself. Can our system become too clogged to work properly?
My question is you being a digestive care expert, what side do you take?
Do you think that sweating will indeed get rid of toxins?
