Struggling with Candida
Topic RSS
Dear L. Tirado,
I truly appreciate your confidence in me, however your issues are way beyond what can be addressed at this email forum. I'm so sorry.
Yes, you do need to find a doctor. Here are 2 websites that might help you locate someone near you. http://www.acam.org and http://www.functionalmedicine.org. Another option is to contact Phyllis at EnteroLab – 972-686-6869. She keeps a national database of practitioners who have greater insight into gut issues and is happy to look up someone in your area.
I'm sorry you can't seem to find your previous post. I seem to remember it. However I searched too. There was an issue with the Forum over the holiday, and perhaps your post got mixed up then.
It's just fine to continue the Intestinew, if it's helping you. It is considered a food, actually – a nutrient. As are probiotics, fiber, omega oils, digestive enzymes. Only the herbal cleanses are to be used for specified lengths of time.
Some people have issues with FOS, especially when they are dealing with an overgrowth of pathogens. Yes, discontinue any product that you associate with strange symptoms. You need a local doctor to work through issues like that.
Those sweet cravings are a sure sign that you are experiencing Candida issues. I hope you're at least following an anti-Candida diet to the best of your ability.
Congratulations on detoxing off antidepressants and also for your 70 lb. weight loss. I don't know of one formula that combines all the calming ingredients you mentioned. Dr. Sponaugle offers complete program to rebalance brain chemistry. You can contact his office, FL Detox, at 888-775-2770.
Have you already run the tests I suggest toward the top of this Forum? You might request those from your doctor, or even order them yourself to find our what's really happening in your gut.
I hope this helped a bit.

OfflineHi Brenda
Have spent a while looking for our previous conversations but could not find it. Can you tell me what happened to them as there was a lot involved in them and I'm not sure where to start? It was titled "Desparate for Answers". Anyway I have a serious case of Candida with leaky gut I'm positive. I have your "Road to Perfect Health" book and I have all the symtoms. I had an endoscopy done recently and was diagnosed with gastritis and prescribed Omerprazole 40mg. I took one and didn't like the side effects and stopped. The wierd thing was before the procedure I didn't feel any problems but since I've been experiencing burning ever since and if I wait too long to eat it gets worse. I went back to your book and realized I had not been using the Intestinew. After I took it things really calmed down. Is it okay to continue on the Intestinew; will this heal the gastritis or is there something else I need to take?
I've been under extreme stress. I am extremely sensitive to foods containing any kind of sweetener. I was given Inulin and I stopped myself from taking it because I knew I would have a problem with it because it is a carb (sugar) but read how it feeds the good bacteria in the colon and now know how important it is but I start to cry after about 10 to 15 mininutes after I ingest it. I purchased Renew's Ultimate Flora 200 billion and after I took it this morning I cried for half an hour or more. My question is why is this happening to me? If you don't know the answer can you possiblly find out from one of the Dr.'s in your book. There is FOS in the probiotic which is what triggered it because when I take the 50 billion I don't have that problem. I'm trying real hard to eat just veggies and legumes and meat but it seems the more I try to clean up my diet the more sensitive I get. What can I do to help with the cravings for sweet or carbs? I had a diflucan a couple of days ago and it really takes toll on me. I have another one to take. I'm worried about how much diflucan a person with serious candida should take. I'm pretty sure the candida is not only in my bloodstream but also in my brain. The problem is it gets hard to function and get things done and could this also be detox symtoms. I can't stand to smell any chemicals either.
I need to find a doctor who can find out what nutrients I'm lacking in the blood and brain so I can function properly. Can you help me with a doctor? The other promblem is my insurance which is only an HMO will not cover natural doctors and I already spent over $4,000 on my holistic dr. and supplements and I'm no better than I was a year ago. So I wonder if it some chemical or nutrients is what I need.
My symtoms started a year ago October after I detoxed off of antidepressants for 20 years. They weren't helping but I gained a ton of weight and became severely constipated with a host of other problems. I've lost 70 pounds since all this started. I was reading the section on depression in your book and it sounds like what I've been going through because none of the antideprssants worked. Please tell me where I can find the mood formula you recommend and if there is one containing all these ingreds (5-HTP, St. John's wort, B6, folic acid, rhodiola, L-tyrosine). I tried a few of these in the past but don't know how much of each one to take. Maybe Dr. Sponaugle would know. My regular internist wants me to go back on Wellbutrin but that won't solve the problem just mask it. I'm also wondering if my internist can run some kind of detailed bloodwork to see what I need at least in my blood. Please help me however you can Brenda. Thank you. L. Tirado
