Hi Brenda

Thank You so much for you reply. I have been seeing a naturopathic doctor. We have checked hormone levels, immunoglobulins, antineuclear antibiodies…all are within normal range. I found a paragraph on on a Rosacea site I will share with you….

Is rosacea an autoimmune disorder of the facial skin?
Under normal conditions, the immune system protects the human body from foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microorganisms. The immune system also plays an important role in clearing up skin inflammation. However, in certain inflammatory skin disorders such as rosacea, immune cells can do more harm than good. In rosacea, chronic facial flushing and inflammation cause the immune system to become over-reactive. The immune system sends gobs of normal immune cells into the facial skin. These normal immune cells then set up camp around facial blood vessels, releasing inflammatory substances that trigger dilation, weaken blood vessel walls, and cause inflammatory papules.

It is important for rosacea sufferers and general physicians to understand that rosacea is not an auto-immune disease. The immune system does not produce antibodies or specifically 'attack' the facial skin cells or blood vessels. The average rosacea sufferer has a perfectly healthy immune system. In rosacea sufferers, the immune system is simply over-reacting to facial inflammation and flushing. Over time, this immune system response becomes exaggerated and counterproductive. (Dr Geoffery Nase, PHD, Rosacea reasearch specialist)

This seem to make sense(In my case). So hopefully the immunologist can shed some light on this for me. I sincerly thank you, and will continue on my path to ultimate wellness.

I'll keep you posted. Happy Holidays, and God bless!

Mary Lou

Dear Mary Lou,

Baffling this is.  Yes you would think it would be getting better or at the very least not getting worse.  Have you seen an Integrative Doctor that can investigate further.  There are only so many suggestions I can make over a forum.  An Integrated doc would most likely start doing some nutritional diagnostics and hopefully find a link to what is going on and why you have such an issue with the rosacea.  I have to say it does sound like it is linked into your immune system, and as it gets stronger the rosacea gets worse which could mean a disorder within your innate immune response.  Good to see an immunologist too to see what he thinks.  Also here is more research info on rosacea and what it could possibly be linked to http://www.rosacea.org/grants/……php#Gallo

I'm afraid my only suggestions at this point is to see both the immunologist and also an Integrative MD who, like I said, could do some of the testing that traditional MD's would not consider.

I would suggest looking on http://www.acam.com and http://www.functionalmedicine.org/ to try and find someone in your area.  I am so sorry mine and the other suggestions have not been successful with you.

Please let me know how you do with both of these docs.

Sincerely

Brenda Watson

Hi Brenda

It has been 1 year since my journey began here. I have chronic papular rosacea. I started your probiotics with 200 billion last year, then 100 billion as you suggested, then 50 billion.  I did the cleanses(para gone and candi gone).  I have been on Doug Kaufmanns phase one diet, and faithfully taking 50 billion daily…yet my rosacea has gotten progressively worse!!   I'm doing all the right things, yet it has gotten worse since I've have taken on my new healthy lifestyle. This doesn't make any sense to me at all? If it's candida(micotoxins) I should have been cleansed a long time ago. I fell like I have awoken a sleeping giant! I am suffering greatly Cry with this as it is spreading under my chin to my neck! Now also upper lip and forehead(not just cheeks anymore)

Any thoughts you may have at this piont would be greatly accepted. I am going to see an immunologist next month.

Thank You so much

Sincerly,

Mary Lou

Ps..I should add I also take high potency fish oil/ 3000iu d3/ cal-mag /2000mg vit c/ …I tried betaine…coconut oil…curcumin…I got an air purifer, I don't smoke or drink.  However I did drink and took antibiotics. No alcohol for 2 years, and no antibiotics for one year. I'm runnung out of options and ideas.
