Dear crahanclan,

Probiotics can be taken during a round of antibiotics – separated by at least 2 hours from the antibiotics (or the antibiotics will destroy them!)

If his antibiotics are short term, then you can wait until he is finished with the round, and then he can take high dose probiotics to rebuild the good bacteria.

Probiotics strengthen the immune system, and could possible help your Dad to recover more quickly from poison oak. They are always helpful!

Hi Brenda,

My dad has had a rash since May, that has been treated with steroids, antibiotics and creams. Nothing has worked, he saw a dermatologist and they said it was poison oak! My mom has cleaned with bleach everything that he touches! I saw your show on PBS today and thought maybe this would work! What do you suggest he tries? Please keep in mind that he is on an antibiotic 4 x day! Thanks
