Probiotics and Graves disease
Topic RSS
Dear darezzo,
With any type of autoimmune disease you MUST direct your care and attention toward the gut. Probiotics are the basic of what you need to do. After all, 80% of the immune system occurs in the gut!
There are many types of mycoplasma, and also many different laboratory tests available. Your doctor should be able to write a prescription for a blood test to determine what may be present.
Regardless of what specific agent is found, the best action you can take is still regulating your immune system – through a healthy gut. So I suggest Ultimate Flora 50 Billion - 2 times daily, Intestinew powder – 1 scoop daily, FiberSmart, and Norwegian Gold Critical Omega. These products along with possible dietary modifications should be a good start.
If you'd like to email my assistant at jsinclaire@renewlife.com she will send you the chapter from my book on Thyroid dysfunction which also covers Grave's disease.
Be in touch and let me know how you progress.

OfflineDo probiotics have a place in the treatment of Grave's disease, an autoimmune disease that causes hyperthyroidism and other symptoms? Mycoplasma infections have been possibly implicated in Grave's disease, as in other autoimmune diseases. How can this possibility be assessed in a Grave's patient, and how might it be addressed, besides the use of antibiotics?
