Dear jennag,

The first question that comes to mind is – were the specialists you saw Integrative Practitioners? Were they doctors who have been specially trained to view the body as a whole? Here are 2 websites that might help you locate someone near you if that seems like a good idea. http://www.acam.org and http://www.functionalmedicine.org

I’m sure you realize that there are many causes of peripheral neuropathy. One suggested cause has to do with toxic buildup in the body, secondary to exposure to harmful substances, heavy metals, chemicals. The neurontin itself can be hard on the body to a degree (as you're experiencing), as can most all pharmaceuticals.

Here is an interesting article from the Townsend Letter with regard to Peripheral Neuropathy – http://findarticles.com/p/arti…..107201203/

Since you are writing to me, it seems you might be wondering if there’s a direct connection between gut health and peripheral neuropathy. I wouldn’t be at all surprised, however I’m sorry that I can’t say “try 'this' and your neuropathy should be healed”.

Certainly a healthy digestive system will be able to absorb nutrients that build healthy nerves and remove toxins that irritate nerves. I do know that enhancing the function of your 7 channels of elimination would certainly improve the function of your body overall (possibly through Total Body Cleansing). And creating a good gut environment through proper fiber intake, probiotics, omega oils and enzymes along with a well-balanced whole food diet will absolutely promote your vitality and well-being.

Let me know if you have any further questions. I hope this was helpful.

I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in my feet several years ago and have seen several different specialists.  They have all tested me for diabeties and lupis but the tests come back negitive and I do not have any symptoms for these diseases.  I take high doses of neurontin and it's taking a toll.  Can you shed any light or make any suggestions?
