Long-term antibiotics / probiotics at same time?
Topic RSS
Dear KathyLee99
Absolutely take the probiotics!!! They will still help to maintain the health of your immune system and gut. Just make sure you wait 2 hours after your antibiotic dose so the antibiotics don’t destroy the probiotics.
FloraSmart doesn’t have to be refrigerated. Perhaps that would be a good choice for your son.
For that matter, both FloraSmart and Ultimate Flora products can be taken with or without food, any time of the day. RenewLife has a patented process that protects the probiotics through the stomach to allow them to get to the intestines, where they do their job.
You didn't mention which product you have in the frig at home. Best to follow the directions on the bottle you have.
Hope this helps!

OfflineHello,
I have to go on a 3-month course of antibiotics. Is there any point taking the probiotics during this course or should I just wait until I am finished with the antibiotics?
Also, we use the refrigerated Renew probiotics. Because they are in the fridge and not on the bathroom counter, my son always forgets to take it. He remembers only when he opens the fridge to get food. Is it worth it to take with food or does the food dimish the effectiveness to the point that you might as well not waste them. Which is worse – with food or not at all?
Thanks.
