Dear swatson

Do you mean by mucus membrane her intestinal lining?  Are they specifically meaning from the mouth down?  Sounds like it.  Anyway, in order to reduce inflammation this is what I would suggest:

Vitamin D drops – 3,000 to 5,000 IU daily

IntestiNew powder – one scoop in 8 oz water in morning on empty stomach

Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50 Billion probiotic – two capsules daily am and pm for the first four weeks then to one capsule daily

Norwegian Gold Critical Care probiotics

Have her stay away from inflammatory foods which is what they may be telling her: no sugar, no wheat or gluten foods, no processed or refined meats, no red meat right now, no fried foods.   Basically a diet of lean proteins in the form of chicken, turkey and fish, vegetables especially any and all bright colored vegies – if raw bothers her make sure she steams them.  Brown rice is good, eggs are ok.  Stay away from white potato, white bread, white rice.

Hope this helps

My mother was told that her mucus membrane is inflammed, which is causing her to become jittery, no appetite, dry mouth and nausea. Can you tell me how this condition can be treated.  She been experiencing this for 2 yrs. and no one has been able to help her.  She has gone to at least 15 doctors and the problem still exist.  She's just being told what not to eat, but no one is able to correct the problem.  I am in desperate need of help, she have lost about 30 lbs as a result of this.
