Dear de,
I’m glad the Renew products are helping. What specific symptoms do you continue to experience?
Years of constipation, spastic colon and acid reflux often point to Leaky Gut Syndrome, with food allergies and many other symptoms as result.
The episode you describe sounds somewhat like a gas bubble trapped in the intestine. It can be excrutiating. Do you experience constipation regularly? I'm glad it wasn't diagnosed as diverticulitis. That can be much more painful and serious.
Did you start food combining to help reduce your digestion issues? If so, I'm sure you found it helpful. Do you eat a lot of fruit? Even when eaten alone, if not digested fully, fruit can create painful gas in certain people.
An essential piece to a healthy gut is fiber. Soluble fiber works with the probiotics to repair the gut lining, and insoluble fiber exercises and sweeps the intestine. Check out this info http://www.renewlife.com/learn…..fiber-faqs. You might be surprised, even if you eat salads and veggies every day, at the small amount of fiber you’re providing for your bowel. If you sign up at http://www.fiber35diet.com/ for free, there’s a Food List and the fiber content of many foods right there.
There are non-invasive tests that can give you clear answers to what’s actually happening in your gut. http://blog.brendawatson.com/c…..ial-tests/
You can get them without another doctor’s visit as well. We’ll be happy to help you interpret the results if you let us know you’ve been tested.
I hope this helps.

OfflineAbout three years ago, I did an 83-day juice feast. I had what I thought at that time was a detox episode. I woke up with a very distended stomach and then my lower left side became inflamed and I could actually feel a knot (the size of an egg). The pain was so intense. I did a water enema, drank peppermint tea, and after about two hours the pain went away. This has continued since, and after looking up the symptoms, I assumed I had diverticulitis (5 years ago I had a colonoscopy and was told that I had diverticulosis). In any case, the episodes are sporadic and lasted the same amount of time. However, about a month ago, I had the same type of episode and this time it lasted 8 hours. I have a phobia about doctors so I finally called my GYN (only doctor that I have) and she ordered a muscle relaxer, which seemed to work. I had a colonoscopy about two weeks ago and my (new) doctor found nothing except 3 small pouches from the diverticulosis. He said that the pain could be from a hernia. Although, I do think that all pain particularly in the colon is related to emotions (mired in the past in this case) and the irony of having visited with my family for over a month – the physical manifestation was so awful that I cannot imagine going through that again and am looking for guidance. I have always had issues with my stomach (constipation, spastic colon, acid reflux) and wonder if I could also have food allergies that inflame my colon. During the juice feast, it seemed like grapefruit juice preceded the two bouts with the inflamed colon. As I get older, it also seems that I am far more sensitive to foods than ever before (although my family has always had lots of food and environmental allergies). I started your Probiotics, Bowel Support and Soother, and Digestive Enzymes, and they all seem to be helping. I food combine and also take other supplements. I wondered if you have any other suggestions or if you have ever had anyone else write about similar symptoms? Thanks for any feedback
