Dear thisland,

Thank you for watching the show and pledging to your PBS station.  So glad you like the gifts.  I would suggest you contact The Parasitology Center in Scottsdale and see if they might know of someone in your area that you could go see.  Dr. Omar Amin is the parasitologist there and the best in the country.  Otherwise I would look at http://www.acam.org for any Integrative Doctors in your area and call to see if they deal with parasite infection.

Hope this helps

Brenda,

I recently received your "Road to Perfect Health" book, CD's, etc from PBS.  I haven't finished it all yet, but great material.

I have tested positive 4 times for protozoan parasite by Metametrix.  Result: 3 times  "Protozoan Parasite – Taxonomy Unavailable (PPTU)". 1 time Dientamoeba fragilis.  (I'm going to get one more test using your included coupon.)  Problem is, local doctors don't want to treat it. (Or one treatment only, after pulling teeth) They just smile condescendingly and tell me they don't think a parasite is causing my symptoms (abdominal pain on lower left side; pale, soft stools of high frequency and quantity; major weight loss; flatulence; bloating) because I haven't traveled to a third-world country.  I've tried digestive enzymes, dietary restrictions, and Para-gard/Artemisinin/Oil of Oregano, etc, but at best the Paragard, etc lessens the symptoms somewhat.  Doesn't get rid of them.  I took Tinidazole and that seemed to help the best, but even then it only lessened the symptoms, didn't eliminate.  Flagyl and Alinia were no help at all.

How can I find a local (San Francisco area) doctor who will take this seriously? Someone who is both able and willing to treat resistant protozoan parasites.  I don't need any more impotent herbs, or lectures about my diet.  I've already cut out soda, gluten, dairy, etc. and the symptoms only got WORSE!  (Well, that was after taking Ciprofloxin for a urinary infection, but still, the gluten-and-dairy-free hasn't helped one bit!)

Thank you!
