Dear Tina Marie

1 Fungus

2 Candida eats sugar (from your diet in the form of carbs or sugar) and it puts off a waste (poop) so to speak. In other words like any organism it takes in food and puts off a waste product. The sugar they eat keeps you craving sugar in your diet. The organism wants to eat and so you respond by craving the food to feed it. Another waste it puts off is alcohol!!!!!!! That is why your hormones get disrupted. Gain weight. Develop liver problems and the beat goes on. The more it sits in your gut and ferments the fatter you get because part of the hormone cycle that gets disrupted is not just female hormones. It is the hormones around feeling full etc. It is a killer and a viscous cycle.

I cannot tell you the amount of people that have this issue but it takes diligence and persistency to get rid of it!!!!!!  But people do not have the consistency to stay with the diet and supplements until it heals.

I just came off the road and the amount of people sick is depressing!!!! All of them have gut problems and many have more than that because they have not dealt with the gut at all!!!! It makes me sad because they have no where to turn!!!!! Most doctors even natural do not go to the gut first and clean it up and then allow the rest of the body to heal.

3The yeast lives in us normally in harmony but once it begins to take over (because someone takes antibiotics or immune system is depressed) and the friendly bacteria count goes down it shifts into a fungal form and grows a root called a rhizoid. This is how it roots into the gut and creates the "leaky" microscopic holes so to speak. But this allow toxins and other undigested proteins into the bloodstream. If the friendly bacteria is low once an undigested protein gets in the blood your immune system will not produce the enzyme to get rid of it and so it becomes a cascade effect. More toxins, candida into the blood. More immune stimulation. Then in some people the immune system gets worn out and low. It depends on the individual on how it will react long term.

If the candida is eliminated the fix so to speak is  to get the friendly bacteria (probiotics) high and colonizing and staying in the gut. Also to make the lining healthy (Intestinew) so the bacteria can stick (so to speak) to the lining and do its job.

By the way I have a PBS show coming out in Nov Dec pledge drive called The Road to Perfect Health. It is all about probiotics

If you have a tendency to have candida you must take probiotics like a multi vitamin forever

I hope this helps

Brenda

Hi Brenda~

I have a few questions regarding Candida.

1.  Is Candida a fungus or a bacteria?  Can you Candida become resistant to a particular cleansing plan?

2.  How does Candida effect hormones?  Why do you become insulin resistant when you have Candida overgrowth?  Why do you crave sugar?  Gain weight?

3.  What makes the microscopic holes in your gut from Candida overgrowth?  How long does it take to heal a leaky gut?

Thanks again!!

Tina
