H Pylori, second round of antibiotics

Dear Brenda,

I am about to start my second round of antibiotics for H-Pylori. The first round was taken about six months ago. I felt great after completing the Prevpac, <14 days> so I assumed I was cured. During the Thanksgiving holiday my symptoms came back. I finally got around to seeing my GI. He gave me a breath test and sure enough, I still have h pylori. What the heck?!!! How in the world do I have this? My next round of anibiotics is caled pylera. <10 days>. This is all very confusing to me. I was making positive lifestyle changes. I started the probiotic you reccomend for crtical care. I exercise, running nearly 10 miles a day five days a week. My energy as of late seems to be declining, although compared to the general population is still high functioning. What are the questions I need to be asking my doctor? What are the lifestyle steps I need to take to rid myself of H pylori.

On a related note…I had been taking 150 mg. of Doryx <doxycycline> for my skin, for about two years. Could this have compromised my intestines and caused my h pylori?

Any answers/suggestions are very greatly appreciated.
