GERD

Hi Phil,
Was the H. Pylori handled? Did you retest?
Good job with the probiotics. It’s important to take them at least 2 hours away from the antibiotics.
You mentioned you “increased”. How much probiotics are you taking as your maintenance dosage now?
If you would like to email my assistant at jsinclaire@renewlife.com, she will send you the chapter from my new book on GERD, which discusses the potential acid blocker issues and underlying causes for your GERD symptoms.
Initially after an ulcer is found, Omeprazole is prescribed to allow the ulcer to heal. Was yours stomach or duodenal? After a few months, often doctors are happy for you to cut back on the acid blockers, especially if you are making changes in your dietary habits that would support your healing. Technically, those medications are designed to be taken short term. We can send you a suggested protocol you can implement with your doctor at that time to help you in the shift.
I hope this helps.

OfflineHello Brenda. I've searched as far as I could here for treatment of GERD. I was diagnosed with H. Pylori along with ulcers and treated with antibiotics. I increased my probiotic intake during the course of antibiotics. I also have GERD and was prescribed Omeprazole at 40MG. Now I am learning that too little acid may not be beneficial to my digestive system. Oh my! Please help.
Phil
