Gallbladder Removed/Still having pain
Topic RSS
Dear Barbara,
You are correct in thinking that things need to change a bit once the gallbladder is removed. He needs to make sure he takes a fiber supplement daily as this will help absorb some of the excess bile that will be released into his intestinal tract. This increased bile flow into the intestine can cause great irritation and constant diarrhea for some people after gallbladder removal. He also needs to take a digestive enzyme such as DigestMore Ultra with every meal. He needs to avoid eating alot of red meat or saturated fats.
I have a chapter in Gut Solutions on liver, gallbladder and pancreas but nothing specifically about what to do if you have your gallbladder removed. I guess I should include that in my next book.

OfflineDear Brenda,
My husband had emergency surgery, acute pancreatitis that had stones & sludge, he had infection there also, removed 2 days later his gall bladder that had large stone. This was in Jan 2011, now he has been experiencing pain in the liver area after he eats. The doctor said this is common and put him on Prilosec. Said he might have more stones, so they took a ultrasound. The Dr. said he might have scar tissue thats causing the problem, his liver is enlarged. He is now going to see a specialist next week. My question is now that he has no gall bladder what should he take, eat and not eat, and what book would be appropiate for us to get from you on this subject. Thank You !!
