Dear Mae,

It’s nice to see you here in the Forum. It’s so much easier to interact. Space to respond on Facebook is limited.

To answer your immediate question – Renew Life probiotics are enteric coated (in most cases). What this means is that they don’t open until they actually reach your intestine. Also, they have a larger number of different strains of probiotics, making them more likely to be helpful for many more people. Every person has a different “microbial footprint”, meaning we each need a different assortment of probiotics. They are also much higher potency than most on the market.

Check out my response on this post http://blog.brendawatson.com/f…..ids/#p3189 and you will see toward the bottom suggestions for how to choose a probiotic. There’s a lot of information there.

I certainly can’t speculate on why another product creates your “crazy head and sick” feeling as I don’t know how the product was manufactured, or what strains of probiotic it includes.

However, you had also mentioned within your Facebook posts that you have “crazy head feelings” after you eat just about anything, and that you have been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. Probiotics are actually a type of food.

You didn’t mention how long after you eat you experience those experiences, with either food or the probiotic. Immediately? Half an hour? 2 hours?

You also didn’t mention if you are experiencing any other digestive issues. Are you having good bowel movements daily? Diarrhea? Constipation? Heartburn?

If you feel that your doctor isn’t helping, here are 2 websites that might help you locate someone near you. http://www.acam.org and http://www.functionalmedicine.org. These are Integrative Doctors who view the body as a whole and might be able to help you get to the root of your issues.  You need someone close by to monitor that weight loss and make sure you’re getting proper nutrition.

I would also recommend, if financially possible, that you get a Comprehensive Stool Analysis – CSA  (explained in a post toward the top of this Forum). An Integrative doctor might very well choose the exact same test for you. The CSA would tell you what’s actually going on in your gut itself. If you would like, we will help you to understand the results when you receive them if you haven’t found your doctor yet.

Diet is a HUGE component of hypoglycemia, as you know already. It would probably be a good idea for you to follow an anti-Candida diet. This is the diet recommended for people who have issues with yeast/Candida and sugar (which feeds yeast). This diet eliminates sugars from your diet, and also other known allergens like milk and gluten.

Why don’t you contact my assistant at jsinclaire@renewlife.com and she will send you (free of charge) the chapter from my new book on Candidiasis along with general dietary suggestions. You might even choose to start my Elimination/Detox Diet which also eliminates sugars. This diet is very specific, right down to recipes and shopping lists. The focus is on whole, unprocessed, natural foods. http://www.brendawatson.com/diet/

Thank you for your confidence in purchasing the H.O.P.E. program, Mae. Remember, this is a great first step toward your renewed health. Don’t get discouraged. As you shift your diet, your blood sugar should stabilize and along with that, hopefully bring a shift in those disturbing symptoms. Keep looking for a Doctor you like nearby. It’s important for you.
