Brenda,

Looks like you still need a little ND-cleansing on the Canadian site. The second link listed in the previous post still proudly shows "ND,CNC"

Happy Pooping!

True that I got the ND from a non-four college aprox. 7 yrs ago.  I was going to use the designation for a book I was writing at the time, but decided against it, just for the reasons you state.  The marketing department did use it on a few pieces that went out, but again it was removed shortly after and until now thought that all of the ND designations were removed.  Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will have them corrected.  And yes, I am proud of how I have been able to help people regardless of having an ND.   Seeing them improving their lives and getting healthier is wonderful.

Brenda had used "ND" extensively on websites (including the one attached to this blog), literature and advertisements for her products and appearances. Here are a few examples for your consideration:

http://www.brendawatson.com/ (see home page)

http://www.renewlife.ca/brenda…..active.php

http://www.advancednaturals.co…..etter.aspx  (see her signature at the bottom of the letter)

Hope that helps.

Can someone please explain where they're seeing N.D.? Brenda doesn't advertise herself as an N.D., but rather a Certified Nutritional Consultant, therefore I think people are just confused.

Dear Brenda,

People are not taking issue with your desire to help provide information or to help others. The concern is your use of the suffix "ND", which is misleading as you have not attended an accredited 4 year ND program. Your desire to educate is well intentioned and testimonials are wonderful, but the use of "ND" after your name really does imply that you have knowledge and training that, in reality, you do not. From what I have read on your blog and elsewhere, you are are an author, educator and natural health promoter. Be proud of that, promote it and pursue it, but please have enough respect for the term "ND" to stop using it after your name.

Dear Whoever

My mission in life is to help people through education. All my work has documentation. I feel my life has been guided to communicate a message of help to the millions of people suffering.

If anyone could see the thousands of testimonials from people myself or anyone that works with me have helped it makes your heart feel good.

There is a lot of mis information and  misleading people out there for sure who  do not know what they are talking about in the health field.

But let me assure you and anyone who reads this there are just as many well educated MD' s and health care professional with many degrees who have done much injustice to the health of millions of people.

When anyone gives advice be it doctor, friend, lecturer etc. you will feel whether it is the truth or not. We have an innate sense of truth within us and if we listen to that truth we can decide for ourselves whether someone is coming from a space to  help and whether there information is accurate.

If some of these doctors would just use some common sense to help people instead on the endless prescriptions people are now taking people may not be in such a state of health as they are today.

Hope this helps

Brenda

So…in other words, Brenda Watson is not an N.D.  This sounds like a fraudulent claim that should not be posted on websites.  I love how people feel they can claim to be whatever.  An ND or NMD requires medical school.

Dear Karen

You should not have any trouble finding anything out about me I have a bio on these websites. I do not have a doctorate number one. I started my career as a holistic practitioner in the state of Florida. I had to go back to school and do anatomy and physiology courses . Then in the state of florida Colon Hydrotherapy is legal and I worked an apprenticeship program back in 1989 and went to Florida School of Natural healing for that license as I am still licensed in the state. I worked in 1990-1997 in my own clinics (2 with medical doctors). We offered nutritional counseling, acupuncture, colonics, massage etc. At that time Alternative Medicine was really beginning to interest the MD"S and I was fortunate enough to be able to go to all the workshops, trainings, and any other classes  offered. Metagenics and Jeffry Bland were doing a lot of these trainings at that time as they were bringing in the new nutritional science.  As I was a hands on practitioner with MD's. I usually helped with the nutrition programs, colonics and learned right along with them. I feel very fortunate in my training as I worked with thousands of patients. I also taught colon hydrotherapy for Dotolo Research  for post secondary school system of Florida. I also took class after class on herbal medicine.

In 2001 when I began to write books (as I co author with Dr. Leonard Smith a GI surgeon on the Alternative Medical Staff at the University of Miami.)  I decided to take a Naturopathic Course through Trinity. I did 2 one for Nutrition and one for Naturopath. Since I already had Anatomy and Physiology plus about 7 years clinical work in the battlefield of a doctor's office. I just did the courses for writing my books.

My expertise really comes from the hands on practical application of working with so many patients over the years. One of the docs I worked with had many cancer patients. That is where I felt  a real gift from God. There is nothing you get better than hands on. I am now helping people who are Registered Dietician's, Nurses, and Doctor's who call themselves "cross overs". They did not get one single thing from their training that gives them the tools to help the people with gut problems and more today. But I really find this a honor to pass along 20 years of hard work and passion for the field of gut health. I am now working with a doctor in a hospital near my office and he is the place of last resort for most people. The last 2 years I will write another book on. You cannot get this from school I will guarantee you that.

I know my path to help other was destiny and every time I help someone they help me too. They are my best teachers.

Hope that answers your questions. If you are considering going to school I would recommend if you do a traditional or natural approach you find some way to have clinical work it is invaluable.

Sincerely

Brenda Watson
