Dear  Niki

I think we talked with you on consumer services the other day. If not someone with the same problem. Wow what a problem. When children develop this it can be due to fear. How old is she?? It could be a food allergy. If her stools are hard and dry I would definitely test her for gluten and dairy  as this is a common problem with gluten. Go to Enterolab.com and get the stool test for gluten and dairy. You really need to do this. If she stays constipated it will be a lifetime issue. Do her a favor and find out if she had an allergy or sensitivity to gluten or dairy NOW!!!! Then half the battle is won.

I will tell you working in a clinic for years that so many people that had this problem as a child had a lifetime of issues with their bowels. At the end of the day do everything you can to get this piece of the picture right!!!!! If she is not in pain when she goes to the bathroom it will be easier.  Then there is the emotional side to deal with!!!

But I will guarantee you getting her tested for gluten and dairy is the ONLY way to start the process to getting her better. Go on Enterolab and read. You do not need a doctor to run this test. It will be the best money you ever spent!!!!

Do it NOW

Let me know how I can help

Brenda

my child has constipation/bowel resistance…im not sure which came first.  the dr. had us increase her lactulose dose, as well as star using an otc stool softener.  she had a large soft bm which was exciting, yet she continued to resist and they are still dry, even with the lactulose and stool softener.  i have tried explaining to her how to relax and not resist, but it doesnt seem to be helping.  we have tried to increase fiber and decrease dairy without results.  any suggestions?  could it be a food allergy? are there any herbs or natural remedies we can try? is it just the resistance, if so, what can we do to help her not resist?  so far, the more we try, the more she resists, yet letting her decide for herself hasnt worked either.  any ideas would be much appreciated.

the good news is…she does have a bm every two or three days and she has had no bleeding.

sincerely,

niki
